The journey to Omaha is officially underway!
The 2025 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship kicks off this Friday, featuring an exceptionally competitive field. Vanderbilt emerges as the top seed after clinching the SEC tournament. The national seeds are rounded out by Texas (No. 2), Arkansas (No. 3), Auburn (No. 4), North Carolina (No. 5), LSU (No. 6), Georgia (No. 7), and Oregon State (No. 8). Notably, the SEC dominates, boasting six teams in the top eight and a record total of 13 teams in the tournament.
In a surprising twist, Texas A&M, previously ranked first in the preseason and the runner-up in last year’s Omaha championship, has failed to secure a spot in this year’s bracket. The reigning champions from Tennessee enter the tournament as the No. 14 seed.
This year, the tournament features eight SEC schools hosting games: LSU, Texas, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Georgia, and Tennessee. Joining them are three ACC teams: Florida State, North Carolina, and Clemson; two Big Ten contenders: UCLA and Oregon; and three more from the Sun Belt and independent Oregon State.
