Tragic Accident Claims Life of Enterprise Woman
DOTHAN, Alabama (WDHN) — A tragic one-vehicle accident has resulted in the death of a local woman from Enterprise. The victim, identified as 56-year-old Melissa Kay Fulford, suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident that occurred on Friday, July 25, 2025.
According to reports from state troopers, Fulford was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe when she lost control of her vehicle. The Tahoe veered off County Road 636, approximately two miles south of Enterprise, crashed into a fire hydrant, and subsequently overturned.
Authorities noted that Fulford was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident, resulting in her being ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for medical care but sadly succumbed to her injuries on Monday, August 4.
The incident raises important discussions about road safety and the crucial role seatbelts play in preventing fatal injuries in accidents.
