The 16th season of the Diamond League is currently unfolding, with Olympic athletes gearing up for their chance at world accolades in 2025.

Competitors are vying for points across 32 events, aiming to secure their places in the finals scheduled for Zurich this August.

This pivotal event happens just two weeks prior to the World Athletics Championships, which will take place in Tokyo, Japan.

Coverage of all Diamond League competitions will be available on BBC, following a five-year agreement to broadcast the series.

In 2025, the Diamond League faces competition for athletes’ attention from Michael Johnson’s newly established Grand Slam Track.

So far, the only overlap between the two events occurred during the Miami Slam from May 2-4, which coincided with the event in Keqiao, China on May 3.

This season, the Diamond League has set a historic high for prize money, offering a total purse of $9.24 million (£6.95 million) throughout the series.

Participants can earn $500,000 (£375,000) at each of the 14 series events, culminating in a $2.2 million (£1.7 million) prize at the final showdown.
