Gattuso Takes the Helm: Italy’s New Era Begins Ahead of the 2026 World Cup

Gennaro Gattuso’s journey as a football manager has been nothing short of tumultuous.

Since hanging up his boots in 2013, he has taken the helm at ten different clubs over a span of just twelve years.

Notably, his longest tenure was a two-year stint with Pisa, a third-division Italian team where he experienced considerable success.

He joined Pisa in August 2015 and swiftly guided them to promotion to Serie B in his first season. However, after a disappointing campaign that saw them finish at the bottom of the league the following year, Gattuso stepped down.

This marked his second resignation, having previously left his position at OFI Crete in Greece.

In May 2021, he was set to take charge of Serie A side Fiorentina starting July 1. However, just two weeks prior to his appointment, he and the club mutually parted ways.
