I can relate to how you feel; I’ve been in that place too. It took me a considerable amount of time to understand my consistent failures, but eventually, I managed to build my confidence and push through my past shyness and anxiety.

Now, I’ve developed a sense of confidence along with clear boundaries. I can decline invitations that don’t align with my priorities. I find growth alongside the people I collaborate with.

And they appreciate me for it.

Whenever I meet new people, I notice recurring traits among those who exude confidence.

  • Their shoulders are relaxed yet high,
  • They maintain a straight posture while walking,
  • Their legs direct towards the person of interest, and
  • They maintain direct eye contact during conversations.

(A little tip for introverts: Engage in light conversations with newcomers.)

Also, steer clear of individuals who bring you down and don’t show faith in you when it matters.

Today, I want to share some effective methods to help you build or regain your confidence.

1. Initiate conversations with strangers

What’s holding you back? Is it shyness or discomfort?

Feeling this way is perfectly fine. I experienced the same during my university days and it yielded positive outcomes.

Everything begins with a simple hello to a stranger and posing a casual question. Initially, it may seem awkward, but it quickly transitions into a comfortable habit.

Tip: Don’t base your perceptions solely on appearances.

2. Accomplish small tasks each day

Do you find yourself juggling multiple tasks? While it can seem efficient temporarily, it often leads to long-term setbacks. Multitasking can hinder your efficiency by overwhelming your brain.

Instead, I rely on a to-do list to navigate my day filled with manageable tasks. Each completion boosts my sense of achievement, allowing me to tackle further challenges with enhanced confidence.

Consider adding these to your daily agenda:

  1. Dress nicely
  2. Tidy your living space
  3. Plan your social media usage
  4. Organize important documents
  5. Devise a strategy for upcoming events
  6. Schedule dates and times for tasks
  7. Create a grocery list to complete today

3. Engage in physical activity

I’m not suggesting you rush into a gym membership. If you’re already active, that’s fantastic!

However, consider activities like jogging, taking morning strolls, or playing with your pet—just make sure to do them regularly; I emphasize “DAILY.”

Consistent physical activity enhances your skin tone, boosts your self-image, and enhances attractiveness. It also strengthens your immune system, leading to enhanced daily performance. As you exercise, your body releases happy hormones like dopamine and endorphins, significantly elevating your confidence.

4. Practice meditation

You’ve made it this far! I wanted to highlight meditation because it requires a bit of focus and some time from your day.

Individuals who meditate regularly cultivate positive energies around them.

It merely involves paying attention to your breath as you inhale and exhale.

Did you know that Siddhartha reached enlightenment under a Bodhi tree by deeply meditating? After 49 days, he became known as Buddha.

The reason I mention this story is that he was able to shed all his negative subconscious thoughts through meditation, and negativity can significantly hinder confident thinking.

The more you recognize your negative subconscious notions, the more decisive and confident you become in your choices. Meditation is a powerful tool for this.

Remember, your confidence can also inspire those around you.
