Estêvão’s Chelsea Transfer: A Dream Come True as He Sets Sights on Club World Cup Glory

Estêvão has expressed that his upcoming transfer to Chelsea feels like “a dream realized,” as he aims to conclude his journey with Palmeiras on a triumphant note at the Club World Cup this summer.

The promising young talent was signed by Chelsea in July 2024 in a deal estimated by ESPN to initially be worth €34 million ($37 million), with performance-related incentives potentially boosting the total to around €67 million. At just 18 years old, he has spent the season in Brazil and is set to officially join the Premier League club in July after the tournament.

“This is everything for me; it’s a dream come true,” Estêvão told ESPN Brasil regarding his move to Chelsea.

“Playing alongside the top talents in Europe has always been my aspiration. Competing in prestigious tournaments like the Champions League and Premier League is a lifelong dream I’ve cherished. It will significantly impact my life.”

“This opportunity is not just mine, but also my family’s dream. Playing for one of the world’s most esteemed clubs is incredible, and I am eager to adapt swiftly. I want to get on the field because that’s where my passion lies.”

The Brazilian sensation confirmed he is taking English lessons in preparation for his move and has been in contact with midfielder Moisés Caicedo to gain insights about life at the London club.

On his upcoming experience in England, Estêvão remarked, “It’s going to be madness. This will be my first time staying long-term. I can visualize my journey from humble beginnings to this opportunity.”

“I understand there will be challenges ahead, but my family, who are my support system, will be by my side. This represents a vital step for me and them. Chelsea and London—what more could I ask for?”

Having already amassed over 70 appearances for Palmeiras and receiving accolades as the breakthrough player and top striker in Brazil’s league last season, Estêvão sees the Club World Cup as a grand farewell to his Brazilian roots.

“I just want to make the most out of this experience,” he said, acknowledging the complexities of the Club World Cup. “We recognize our team’s capabilities and hold high expectations.”

“Our squad possesses strength and determination, but we are also aware of the formidable challenges ahead. I feel calm and focused.”

“Representing Palmeiras in this prestigious tournament is an extraordinary chance to exhibit my potential in my final moments at the club.”

Estêvão has made five senior appearances for the Brazilian national team, the latest under the new coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Commenting on the experience of training under the renowned former Real Madrid manager, he shared, “It’s an absolute joy. Witnessing him from afar is one thing, but collaborating with him is a whole different experience.”

“He’s a significant figure worldwide, and receiving his support has been invaluable. This time spent with him is enriching my growth as a player.”

“He has a direct and approachable style, always engaging with us, making this a truly special connection.”
