In a historic moment for the NHL, Reinhart became the first player since Maurice Richard of the Montreal Canadiens, who achieved this feat in 1957, to net four goals in a Stanley Cup final.
Just four minutes and 36 seconds into the game, Reinhart set the tone, leading the Florida Panthers to a commanding victory.
Matthew Tkachuk, playing through significant injuries that included a torn adductor muscle and a hernia, contributed to Florida’s success by scoring a goal before the first period ended, with Reinhart adding three more unanswered goals thereafter.
Although Vasily Podkolzin of the Edmonton Oilers managed to score a consolation goal for the team, the Oilers have not secured a Stanley Cup victory since the 1989-90 season.
“We’re a dynasty,” remarked Tkachuk, reflecting on their success. “I can’t believe what we have accomplished… It’s a testament to our incredible group and depth.
“The culture here is truly special. We hope to replicate this success in the future.”
