French Open 2025 Highlights: Sabalenka Stuns Swiatek as Gauff Concludes Boisson’s Journey in Paris

In a thrilling semi-final clash at the 2025 French Open, reigning world number one Aryna Sabalenka moved closer to her first title in Paris by defeating four-time champion Iga Swiatek.

Sabalenka is set to face second seed Coco Gauff in the championship match after Gauff decisively eliminated French wildcard Lois Boisson, who made an impressive run in her first major tournament.

The Belarusian player secured a hard-fought victory with scores of 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, 6-0, thereby ending Swiatek’s remarkable 26-match winning streak at Roland Garros.

Despite a shaky start, Swiatek rallied to level the match, but Sabalenka quickly took control in the final set, dominating the 22-minute showdown.

This marks a significant moment for Sabalenka, who has previously claimed three Grand Slam titles on hard courts but has never reached the final at the French Open.

“It feels incredible, but the job isn’t finished yet. I’m really pleased with my performance,” remarked the 27-year-old athlete.

“Iga is undoubtedly the toughest competitor, especially here at Roland Garros, so I’m proud of this victory.”

Gauff, who was the runner-up to Swiatek in 2022, made quick work of Boisson, winning 6-1, 6-2 in a match that showcased her dominance on the court.
