SAO PAULO – In an exciting update for NFL fans, Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris is slated to make his season debut against the Kansas City Chiefs this Friday. This comes after Harris missed the entirety of training camp due to an eye injury he sustained during a fireworks incident, as confirmed by head coach Jim Harbaugh on Wednesday.
Harris has fully participated in practice sessions, demonstrating his readiness for the game. “He says he’s prepared and he looks ready to hit the field,” Harbaugh stated. “While it’s tough to forecast play counts, he’s geared up to play and give it his all. That’s his mindset.”
During a brief practice session just hours after the team’s arrival in São Paulo, Harris was seen training alongside his teammates. Wearing a helmet with a tinted visor—his choice throughout public practices this summer—Harris faced a throng of reporters. He addressed the misconceptions about his visor, clarifying that it’s simply for protecting a “superficial” injury and not a sign of any serious issues. Since joining the Chargers, he has only participated in six practice sessions.
