The acquisition of the Swedish international by the Premier League champions brings an end to one of the summer’s longest transfer stories.

Liverpool, the reigning English Premier League champions, have officially secured the signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for a landmark transfer fee, multiple sources confirm.
This monumental deal, reportedly valued at around £130 million ($176 million), marks a significant moment in the football landscape, according to coverage from The Athletic and The Telegraph among others.
Isak, a 25-year-old forward, is expected to finalize his six-year contract with the Merseyside club following a medical examination scheduled for today.
Last season, the Swedish striker netted 23 goals in the Premier League, placing him just behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and helping Newcastle secure a Champions League berth.
Throughout the summer, Isak’s transfer was mired in controversy; he often trained separately from the rest of the Newcastle squad as he expressed a strong desire to move to Liverpool.
In a move paving the way for Isak’s exit, Newcastle recently acquired German international striker Nick Woltemade for a record club fee believed to be close to £69 million ($93 million).
