OWINGS MILLS, MD – The Baltimore Ravens are making waves in the NFL with an innovative collaboration featuring the most decorated Olympian in history, Michael Phelps.
On Wednesday, Phelps, a Baltimore native and ardent supporter of the Ravens, agreed to share his expertise in swimming with the team. With a staggering 23 gold medals to his name, Phelps brings unparalleled experience to the Ravens’ training regimen.
The partnership began when cornerback Marlon Humphrey took to social media the previous day, sharing an earnest request for Phelps’ guidance. In a fun video, Humphrey, alongside offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, safety Kyle Hamilton, and tight end Charlie Kolar, showcased their efforts in the team’s newly-installed aquatic facility. They humorously noted that approximately one-third of the Ravens players lack swimming skills.
“Hey Michael Phelps, we need your help!! From the Ravens Aquatics Team,” Humphrey posted.
In a prompt response, Phelps enthusiastically replied, “I got y’all!!! Let’s do it!!”
Kolar, who initially thought Humphrey would send a private message, expressed surprise at the public nature of the request. “I should have known better,” he admitted.
With this unique approach to training, the Ravens are not just focusing on their athletic skills but also enhancing team camaraderie through an unconventional method. This collaboration promises to make the 2025 season memorable both in the pool and on the field.
