TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (WIAT) — In an exciting development for fall 2025, the University of Alabama has announced a record-breaking enrollment figure.
With a remarkable total of 42,360 students, this marks a 3.7% increase from previous years. Notably, the number of in-state students has surged by over 4%. The diverse student body hails from all corners of Alabama, along with representatives from every U.S. state, the District of Columbia, and an impressive 99 countries worldwide.
In the words of UA President Peter Mohler, “The University of Alabama is shaping the future of higher education — we are a student-focused institution dedicated to grooming leaders for the workforce demands of today and tomorrow, both within our state and nationally.” He emphasized that this surge in enrollment showcases students from all 67 counties in Alabama, highlighting the university’s growing influence and commitment to transforming lives.
Additionally, the University has conferred over 9,500 degrees in the past year, positioning itself as the leading institution for graduating students in Alabama.
