As England prepared for their critical Women’s Nations League match, much of the spotlight was initially focused on Mary Earps’ decision to retire. However, following the game, it was Aggie Beever-Jones who became the talk of the town.
The young forward capitalized on the absence of injured stars Alessia Russo and Ella Toone, netting an impressive hat-trick in just 33 minutes against Portugal.
With eyes set on Euro 2025, former England goalkeeper Karen Bardsley commended Beever-Jones for her dynamic playstyle and goal-scoring ability. “She has the versatility to play on the right, the left, or centrally and is always moving to find the perfect moment to exploit defensive gaps,” Bardsley remarked on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Her positioning keeps her offside trap at bay, making her a relentless scorer who creates chaos for defenders.”
Having joined Chelsea’s academy at just nine years old, Beever-Jones emerged as the team’s top goal-scorer in the WSL last season, tallying nine goals, and also played a crucial role in clinching the deciding goal during the FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool, propelling Chelsea toward a potential domestic treble.
