Ronaldo Shatters Records Amidst Al Nassr’s Heartbreaking Saudi Super Cup Defeat to Al-Ahli

Cristiano Ronaldo achieves historic milestone with 100 goals across four clubs, but Al Nassr falls short against Al-Ahli.

In a landmark achievement, Cristiano Ronaldo has distinguished himself as the first player in history to score 100 competitive goals for four separate clubs. However, it was not enough to secure victory for Al Nassr, as they succumbed to Al-Ahli in a penalty shootout after a thrilling 2-2 draw in the Saudi Super Cup final held at Hong Kong Stadium on Saturday.

The 40-year-old forward reached this impressive milestone with a penalty conversion in the first half, contributing to Al Nassr since he joined the Saudi Arabian side in December 2022. His impressive tally now includes 450 goals for Real Madrid, 145 for Manchester United, and 101 for Juventus, placing him ahead of notable players like Isidro Langara, Romário, and Neymar, who each scored 100 goals for three clubs.

Despite his personal success, Ronaldo is still in pursuit of his first major trophy in Saudi Arabia and remains the leading international scorer with 138 goals for Portugal.

Ronaldo opened the scoring with a penalty at the 41-minute mark, but Al-Ahli’s Franck Kessie quickly equalized. With only seven minutes left, Marcelo Brozovic gave Al Nassr another lead, yet Brazilian defender Ibanez managed to equalize in stoppage time, sending the match to penalties.

While Ronaldo netted another penalty, his teammate Abdullah al-Khaibari faltered, leading to Al-Ahli claiming victory with a 5-3 win in the shootout, marking the first trophy of the Saudi football season.
