Scottie Scheffler’s Dramatic Surge at the 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge: Robert MacIntyre Joins the Action!

In an impressive display during the third round of the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas, Scottie Scheffler scored seven birdies and an eagle, positioning himself for a potential comeback. After his recent triumph at the PGA Championship, Scheffler began the weekend significantly behind, trailing the leader by 10 strokes. However, his stellar performance of 6 under par (64) has propelled him into a tie for seventh place.

“You always aim to play the perfect round, though that rarely happens,” Scheffler remarked. “Three bogeys can be detrimental, especially when you’re chasing, but I still executed some solid plays today.”

To achieve a historic milestone, Scheffler will need to deliver another exceptional performance on Sunday, aiming to become the first player since Dustin Johnson in 2017 to clinch victories in three consecutive tournaments. He would also join the ranks of Ben Hogan, who won both the Byron Nelson and Colonial in the same season back in 1946.

“Mentally, I’m feeling a bit worn out. I’m definitely practicing a lighter schedule this week compared to usual tournament weeks, but I believe my game is on the right track,” he added. “This week, I managed to get some good rest, and I’m here to compete. Today was a solid day for me. The earlier rounds could have been better, but we’ll see how it goes tomorrow.”

Scottie Scheffler remained competitive in Fort Worth, Texas as the tournament heats up.

Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre entered the race impressively with a score of eight under par, which also included seven birdies during his round of 64.

As the final round approaches, Ben Griffin and Matti Schmid maintain their lead, both at 13 under par following their third-round scores of 68 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. Rickie Fowler is trailing closely, four shots behind.

Tommy Fleetwood from England is currently tied for 10th with a score of six under, having finished with a level par 70.

Griffin and Schmid experienced a dramatic round; Griffin started strong by gaining shots on the first three holes but lost two on the fifth and one more on the sixth, while Schmid faced setbacks on the 11th and 17th holes.
