Stellar Performance by Tommy Fleetwood at the St. Jude Championship
In a captivating display of skill, Tommy Fleetwood surged to a commanding lead at the St. Jude Championship held in Memphis, Tennessee, by carding an impressive six-under par 64. This performance puts him four strokes ahead as the second round was halted due to severe weather conditions.
The 34-year-old English golfer kicked off the tournament with a stellar 63 in the first round, showcasing his talent with a total of seven birdies during round two. Despite a single bogey on the 18th hole, Fleetwood stands strong at 13 under par, positioning himself favorably for his first PGA Tour title.
Close behind, Collin Morikawa, a two-time major champion, also put in a commendable effort with a score of 65, bringing him to nine under par. He shares this score with American golfer Akshay Bhatia as they compete in the inaugural event of the FedExCup playoffs.
As play was suspended due to lightning, England’s Justin Rose was on the 17th tee, among 21 golfers who still had holes left to play, trailing Fleetwood by four shots. This tournament has certainly set the stage for an exciting finish as it returns to action!
