Chelsea is actively pursuing the signings of Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho as the transfer deadline approaches in the summer of 2025.
The club has engaged in negotiations concerning these two forwards, benefitting from positive relationships with both RB Leipzig and Manchester United throughout the discussions.
Notably, Simons was absent from RB Leipzig’s recent friendly match, signaling potential movement, while Garnacho is among several players that Manchester United aims to offload during this transfer window.
According to reports from Sky Sports News, Bayern Munich has also expressed interest in Simons, who has two years remaining on his current contract.
Due to a financial breach resulting in penalties from UEFA, Chelsea has accepted limitations on registering any new players for the 2025/26 UEFA competitions, unless they significantly offset these signings through sales.
The club has already invested over £250 million this summer, adding eight new players, including their latest acquisition, Ajax defender Jorel Hato. Further signings are anticipated as the club offloads several players.
Nine players have departed Chelsea permanently, and key names including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Armando Broja, and Carney Chukwuemeka are also expected to leave Stamford Bridge soon.
There’s growing speculation surrounding the futures of Christopher Nkunku and Raheem Sterling, while Nicolas Jackson’s situation remains uncertain.
Chelsea resumed pre-season training on Monday, after a three-week break following their Club World Cup victory. The team is set to play Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan ahead of their season opener against Crystal Palace, which will be televised live on Sky Sports on Sunday, August 17.
