Receiving a notification about a starter pickleball class made me consider whether it could be the perfect chance I was seeking. It seemed like an opportunity to fill the void left by the light social interactions I lost during the pandemic, especially as my yoga and running friends drifted away for various reasons. This lack of social interaction led to a noticeable dip in my happiness and well-being. The exchanges we engage in—those small glimpses into each other’s lives—may not seem significant until they’re absent. This realization hits harder when, like me, you find yourself working remotely.
