In the recent legislative elections held on September 8, 2025, Norway’s Labour Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere celebrated a significant triumph, despite a notable increase in support for the anti-immigration populist Progress Party.

Early projections from NRK and TV2 indicated that the Labour-led coalition, along with its smaller allies, captured a total of 89 seats—exceeding the 85 needed for a parliamentary majority.
