The standout guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder is nominated for two prestigious awards: Best Athlete – Men’s Sports and Best NBA Player. Additionally, the Thunder have made the shortlist for Best Team after an exhilarating Game 7 victory against the Indiana Pacers.
Several nominated athletes are being recognized for their remarkable showings at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. Notable nominees include Simone Biles and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone for Best Athlete – Women’s Sports, while Ilona Maher and Ezra Frech represent the breakthrough and disability sports categories, respectively.
A’ja Wilson, who captured the titles of Best Athlete – Women’s Sports and Best WNBA Player in 2024, leads the nominations in both categories once again. Saquon Barkley is also a strong contender, earning nominations in three categories: Best Athlete – Men’s Sports, Best Play, and Best NFL Player. Notably, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen joins Barkley as the only other NFL player nominated in both the Best NFL Player and Best Athlete – Men’s Sports categories.
