Hello Boni!
I’m facing a dilemma. I know what I seek in life—deep love, wonderful friendships, adventures through travel, laughter, meaningful discussions, pure enjoyment, shedding pounds, increasing wealth, and assisting others in achieving wellness.
Yet, I find myself trapped in a state of despair and anxiety. Having battled severe anxiety for eleven years, I struggle to even gather the motivation to articulate my goals, let alone take action.
At just 22, I recognize I’m on a valuable journey by learning from you and others, but do you have any tips on how to ignite my motivation?
Thank you so much!
Yours sincerely,
Anxious but Hopeful

Dear Anxious (and to anyone who feels stuck at times),
You are not alone in your struggle to progress. It’s frustrating to comprehend that you are in control yet feel hindered from taking the steps needed to enhance your life.
We all experience lapses in motivation occasionally. The reasons behind this can vary significantly. Each individual has their own unique narrative. Here are some considerations to help you uncover the root cause for your own situation:
1. A break might be what you need
I recall a week when I struggled with motivation. I was unable to write or work. All I desired was to stroll along the beach (who wouldn’t want that?). However, I understood that it was simply a moment needed to process internal changes.
Sometimes we need to enjoy ourselves, other times to socialize, and occasionally, we just need to withdraw (OK, I often need to retreat!). Recognize your growth patterns and give them the respect they deserve.
2. You may doubt its feasibility
This is a common barrier for many individuals. They hear about the law of attraction and it seems unbelievable. The fear of testing it often stems from the concern that if it fails, even the hopeful fantasy disappears.
Take some time to explore your core beliefs. It’s crucial to alter the thoughts that insist it won’t work or that it can’t work for you before embarking on your own journey of manifestation. Conscious creation requires patience and diligence. It truly works.
3. Your inner child or teen might be in charge
It’s our youthful side that often believes crafting our reality is simply too challenging. They yearn for shortcuts, assurances, and instant gratification. It’s the child within that fears making mistakes and chooses to remain passive.
These inner voices can hinder you significantly if allowed. How do you respond to them? In meditation, connect with your younger self and engage in dialogue. Inquire about their thoughts and feelings regarding your aspirations. Validate them. Show them kindness and understanding.
Then reassure them by creating a life they can cherish. Promise them security and express that you’re managing your life. This simple exercise can lead to profound transformation.
4. Fear of success consequences
Often, when we delve into what truly impedes our progress, the root cause may not align with any of the aforementioned points. It’s frequently a fear of being unable to manage or maintain the success we crave.
What lies beneath this fear? It often stems from beliefs, such as:
Should I achieve success, the responsibilities will overwhelm me.
Should I be successful, I’ll be too noticeable.
Should I enjoy success, I may lose my friends, family, or the comfort of an easy life.
Yet, these are merely beliefs. And beliefs can be altered. You not only create your success but also what follows thereafter. Don’t overlook that! Remember to transform those beliefs!
5. You enjoy your current situation
Trust me on this one. If you don’t recognize a part of you prefers failure, victimization, martyrdom, or turmoil, it’s time to explore deeper. A fraction of you may find comfort in familiarity. Another part might gain attention when expressing grievances. Yet another could relish attributing blame to others for misfortunes.
Ultimately, it’s your life, and you have the power to shape it however you wish. However, don’t deny that negativity may bring you certain benefits. Once you acknowledge you are the architect of your circumstances, the victim narrative falls away. And remember, indecision is a choice, too.
6. Your inner critic is being harsh
You can hardly fault them; it’s their role. They mislead, belittle, sabotage, and drain your motivation. Phrases like, “What’s the point? Nothing will change!” or, “Why waste time on this creation?” or, “You’re meant to fail, to be unwanted and unhappy!” are common.
Remember—these are lies. If you ignore them without truly acknowledging their existence, they may confine you to mediocrity. How can you manage them? Listen to their messages completely—take five minutes each day to do this.
You might choose to do this while walking, showering, or even driving (with some practice beforehand). Acknowledging them allows your higher self to cleanse your energy of their negativity. Freedom awaits you (until tomorrow, of course, when it’s time to repeat the process!).
7. Seeking assistance is okay
If you’re experiencing debilitating anxiety and depression, it is essential to seek professional support. Lazaris offers insightful recordings aimed at healing these issues as well.
For all, consider requesting divine guidance. Call upon your hidden allies to help you maintain your drive, energy, enthusiasm, and passion. Seek support in your healing journey, your growth, and to evolve into the person you aspire to become.
Everyone requires assistance occasionally, and it’s beneficial to seek help every day. There’s absolutely no need to navigate this journey alone.
Once you liberate yourself from the barriers holding you back, you’ll begin to reshape your reality. Success is incredibly motivating! However, we all experience cycles of activity and stillness, of learning and integrating—embrace these rhythms.
Each new aspiration presents fresh challenges to conquer, beliefs to revise, a new self-image to embrace, and opportunities for growth. The secret lies in enjoying the journey as much as possible—without fixation on particular outcomes.
I trust this aids you, Anxious, and everyone else, in reclaiming your power and moving forward with confidence in manifesting your dreams.
