We all breathe, right?
How often do we acknowledge and appreciate the rhythm of our breath while simply taking a moment to smile?
During this lockdown, many of us find ourselves working remotely, engaging in virtual classes, or tackling various assignments. Have we ever envisioned doing this before the pandemic impacted our lives?
Additionally, we’re rediscovering old hobbies or picking up new ones, preparing meals and baked goods for ourselves and loved ones, reconnecting with distant friends through calls or messages, revisiting neglected books, exercising, practicing meditation, and more—all while striving to find our own unique approaches to maintain productivity and engagement.
But pause right where you are and breathe… Yes, you read that correctly.
In this modern age, we’re all chasing targets, striving for achievements and accomplishments, yet we often overlook the importance of our own ‘self.’ What do we mean by this ‘self’? Simply put, it’s who we are, the stories we carry, our inner essence, and our awareness of being present.
It’s common to hesitate in prioritizing ourselves above all else.
Is it selfish to think about myself first? Isn’t that excessive?
Reflecting inward can be a challenge for us.
Acknowledging when we need extra rest, admitting that a break is necessary, recognizing those uncontrollable emotions that may bring us to tears—these steps require bravery.
It’s okay to not have all the answers, and it’s perfectly fine to put ourselves first.
Take it one step at a time; pause, close your eyes, and take a breath. Embrace the truth that we deserve self-love.
We deserve to relish in our personal time, to be free of guilt as we enjoy music alone, to unwind without the weight of the world and treat ourselves to our favorite meals.
In the midst of everything, we must remind ourselves to check in mentally and physically.

Have you ever pondered what ‘self-love’ truly means in our conversations today?
Here are some thoughts to consider as you read this article…
Recognize your worth,
Acknowledge your inner thoughts, emotions, and feelings,
Accept that it’s perfectly fine to not feel okay, to be free of guilt, to embrace self-love,
Recognize your feelings and needs while maintaining awareness of your existence,
Boundaries are essential and should be respected,
Take a step towards yourself, explore the uncharted parts within you, and listen to what your body tells you.
Concerned? Are you feeling a lack of self-love?
Let’s begin our journey small towards self-love and remind ourselves…

“ 1. We deserve to be our first love.
2. Sit with our feelings when in need.
3. Hug ourselves when we need one.”
At last, did you breathe mindfully while reading this?
If so, then smile 🙂
